1969 Lola T165/70 by Can-Am Constructors
This 1969 Lola T165/70 is a custom-built vehicle originally based on a T160 chassis, refined by Can-Am Constructors in the early 1980s. Starting life as a T160 sports racing car, it was initially campaigned by Jack Hinkle in SCCA competition. Can-Am Constructors, led by Charlie and Don Bartz, upgraded it to T165 specifications, featuring a widened fiberglass Lola T70 Mk III gullwing body. The car is powered by a 460ci Chevrolet MK IV V8 engine with four dual-throat Weber carburetors, an Inglese intake system, and a synchronized ZF five-speed manual transaxle. Additional specifications include a Lola T222-specification suspension with adjustable Koni coilovers, Girling disc brakes, and 15×12” and 15×19” magnesium center-lock wheels. Finished in yellow with blue Le Mans stripes, this Lola has a storied history, including several concours awards and magazine features.
