1986 Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 by Hamish White

Hamish White's 1986 Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2 is a meticulously crafted homage to the iconic Group B rally car. Over 11 years, Hamish has transformed a 1986 B2 Audi Coupé shell into a rally-inspired beast, preserving few original elements apart from the floorpan, bulkhead, and front chassis rails. The Quattro is clad in carbon-kevlar body panels wrapped around a multi-point roll cage. This bespoke build includes a shortened chassis, inspired by the Sport Quattro, and a windscreen modification to reduce glare, reminiscent of the rally cars of the 80s. The heart of Hamish's creation is a ground-up rebuilt AAN 2.2-liter engine producing 450bhp, aided by a Garrett Motion G28 turbo and managed by a MOTEC M130 ECU. The car sits on Magnesium BBS E50 wheels wrapped in Michelin tires, providing an authentic motorsport stance. Suspension is handled by KW Competition coilovers and custom tubular arms, ensuring precision handling. Inside, the car features race-bred Recaro seats, Sabelt harnesses, and Porsche GT3 Cup power steering, making it both formidable on the track and surprisingly comfortable for daily drives.
